Mini Motor servo motors for format changeover: FC, FCL, WFC, WFCL

Format changeover is one of the most critical stages in the operation of an automated machine: every minute of machine downtime due to manual adjustment of the axes represents lost production. Mini Motor’s FC range has been developed to automate this process using brushless servomotors with integrated drive, designed to replace traditional adjustment handwheels with a fast, precise and repeatable electronic control system.

The range comprises two mechanical architectures and two communication modes. The FCL and WFCL are linear servomotors for format changeover, ideal for the direct adjustment of guides and moving axes; FC and WFC are servo-gear motors for rotary format changeover. On both architectures, the letter ‘W’ denotes the wireless variant, based on the proprietary CoA (CAN over AIR) protocol, whilst the wired FC/FCL versions natively support six fieldbus protocols (EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, Powerlink, ProfiNET, CANopen, Modbus).

All models share the same technological DNA: a 4-pole sinusoidal motor with NdFeB magnets, a multi-turn absolute encoder, and IP65 protection. The result is a format-change axis that always knows its own position, which can be communicated in real time to the machine controller, with or without a cable.
