With the improved range of IP67 geared motors, Minimotor has obtained significant new results in terms of operating safety, reliability during use, and extended applications of use. Models in the range, which have been organized into two worm versions (MCF and PCF) and two coaxial versions (ACF and PAF), with power levels that range on average from 35 to 130 W and maximum torque which goes from 5 to 20 Nm, underwent IP67 level inspections in accordance with EN 60529. The tests, which were performed at the IMQ laboratories in Milan, all produced positive results. These mini geared motors, which are increasingly appreciated by customers who want increased performance levels along with reduced consumption and minimum bulk, stand out due to their technical characteristics and performance qualities, aimed at guaranteeing overall optimization of production lines. Some of the details which stand out include: • the absence of motor cooling fins to prevent the accumulation of dirt and facilitate relevant cleaning operations • the use of exclusive oil seals in special fluorinated rubber to provide a perfect seal and increased resistance to high temperatures • closure bolts and screws in stainless steel • the use of anti-corrosion and non-toxic paints • the possibility, on request, of constructing the output shaft in stainless steel The success of the IP67 range has led to Minimotor extending the model package, by identifying new accessory functions, and preparing models with increased power to deal with the most serious situations in complete safety. In the PCF series a new geared motor can be provided (see photo), as an alternative, with an encoder (2 channels, 512 or 50 pulses) to transform electrical signals into digital pulses, thus obtaining accurate motor feedback, or with 24 V DC or 220 V AC electromagnetic brakes. Minimotor also offers the possibility of providing motors with increased power compared with the standard level in the PCF series. A motor with these characteristics was constructed on the request of a customer who, working in tuna processing, needed special performance levels in addition to special protective paints capable of resisting extreme conditions, such as hot sun, bad weather, and salty seawater. The ability to provide customized solutions is one of Minimotor’s strong points, and the company guarantees the utmost assistance at a design level and also during the support phase.

The IP67 range is further broadened
To implement output and reduce energy consumption are the targets that MiniMotor has successfully hit by developing the production lines, thanks to the new gearmotors for the food and beverage sector. The range is composed of four versions, as follows: two coaxial gearmotors and two worm gearmotors. The Series ACM and MCF rated up to 35W, and Models PAF and PCF rated up to 130W, while torque from 5 to 20 Mm max. Upon specific request of a customer from the tuna fish processing sector, the company has added further motorization, as in the picture, as to have 270W power max. In addition to this, studies and tests are underway about to how employ special paints to compensate environmental problems, such as full sun, severe weather conditions and direct contact with sea water, which are known to be the most serious conditions, and as it is the case of this customer. Both outlet shaft and all closing screws can be in stainless steel Aisi 304, which in addition to offering remarkable corrosion strength, they also offers excellent chemical agent-resistance, thus making cleaning easier, which are further facilitated by the presence of no cooling flaps. The Viton oil seals, especially moulded for MiniMotor, assure perfect sealing, excellent resistance to high and low temperature, and long lasting. The use of special anticorrosion paints enables utilizing the new motors both in difficult environments where removing impurities and process residues is more difficult, and in very acid atmospheres typical of washing and purification phases. If on the one hand, such features turn into immediate and clear operational advantages, on the other hand, technical plusses enable the new MiniMotor gearmotors to reach very high medium outputs on average along with considerable energy savings. IP67 standard protection assures long lasting, so giving MiniMotor gearmotors a further distinguishing mark in comparison with the common products on the market. Furthermore, the company is also studying the possibility to produce all the food & beverage series with the IP68 IMQ-certified protection factor. The customers requiring special configurations can count on maximum helpfulness from the engineering and technical assistant points of view, as the best MiniMotor tradition.

The Mini Motor BS and BSE series
The factors that have made the BS and BSE Mini Motor brushless motors so successful are the quality of the components used, their maximum flexibility of use, high performance, precision not to mention the excellent quality to price ratio.
The BSE and BS series have the same features: IP 65 protection level (CEI EN 60529), 4-pole sinusoidal motors, enclosed, rotor with permanent NeFeBr magnets, thermal cut-out switch, class F winding according to the VDE0530 standards, feedback with resolver with the possibility of mounting a 24 Vdc NC brake on request. Besides the BS and BSE series of brushless motors, Mini Motor also supplies the relative digital drives with a PWM system: Drivert 300 and Drivert 1000.
IP 65 on the Mini Motor gearmotors
Thanks to the high quality of the components used and some changes made to the products, Mini Motor has now been able to increase its Protection level from IP 55 to IP 65, in accordance with the CEI EN 6059 standards on all geared motors except for the self-braking type (marked with the letter K).
The changes were made without any additional costs for the customer.
CSA Certification
Mini Motor has recently reached a new goal: cCSAus certification, obtained thanks to its constant efforts in maintaining the quality parameters of its production system and in adapting company processes to comply with international standards.
The CSA mark (Canadian Standards Association) with indicators C and US means that the Mini Motor products are certified for both the Canadian and North American markets as they are deemed suitable for the standards of both countries. If a product has features that concern more than just one sector, the mark indicates conformity to all reference standards.
cCSAus certification includes all the Mini Motor geared motors and servomotors.
